Plume is the Institutional Open Finance platform, serving more than half of all real-world asset holders. It brings institutional assets out of closed financial systems into open, programmable, globally accessible markets.

The problem

Partnerships talent is hard to judge.

Partnerships candidates are hard to judge from a resume. Titles inflate, and BD experience in crypto ranges from signing real institutional deals to retweeting announcements. Plume needed someone who had done the former.

The approach

Closed deals, not claimed relationships.

On the intake call, Plume was clear it wanted candidates who had closed institutional deals, not ones who claimed relationships. Recruiters on Squad surfaced just that. Plume saw 11 profiles, and the winning one was on their desk 12 days after the role opened. John was hired as Associate, Strategic Partnerships, and the single offer extended was signed.

“Squad is hands down one of the best hiring partners in the space. They filled the seat that presented the biggest blocker for our growth, and when we needed to expand our international team we didn’t even think about it, we just put it on Squad. Every serious team should be using them.”
James FrielVP, Head of GTM, Plume Network

The outcome

Then the search went to Asia.

The next mandate was bigger. Plume came back to take the function international, opening an APAC Strategic Partnerships search across Singapore, Taiwan, and Seoul. The brief is narrower than the first: business-proficient Mandarin, credit and fixed income depth, and comfort in front of asset managers, banks, and family offices. Recruiters across the region are working it today.
